Pride Alliance Advisor Business Community Celebrates Diversity

| June 10, 2021

“As a gay advisor who is very active within our local LGBTQ+ professional and non-profit communities, it’s important to be affiliated with a firm that walks the walk. LPL has consistently received a perfect 100% score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, an annual national benchmarking survey measuring corporate policies and practices. Showing this commitment to LGBTQ+ equality is necessary to attract new advisors to LPL from within our community, and sends a critical message to existing and future clients as well,” says advisor Jeremy Gussick of Gussick and Barnett Financial Planning in Voorhees, New Jersey.

LPL has taken a leadership role in building the industry’s most diverse network of advisors and employees. Through a variety of initiatives from advisor business communities to employee resource groups, we champion diversity, equity, and inclusion for advisors, employees, partners, and allies.

The Pride Alliance Advisor Business Community (ABC) has been a shining light and support for advisors and allies to live proudly and authentically. With events throughout the year, advisors and allies have the opportunity to develop new and deepen existing relationships with their peers, including:

  • Pride Alliance ABC Forum: The inaugural Pride Alliance Forum was held on June 3, during Pride Month. The Forum was designed to give LGBTQ+ advisors at LPL the opportunity to connect with peers, share ideas, and learn more about LPL resources that can enhance value and efficiency in their businesses.
  • Pride Alliance ABC LinkedIn group: This active group helps advisors and allies connect and communicate resources in support of business growth and sharing of best practices.
  • Office Hours: Advisors look forward to monthly virtual meetings where we deliver curated topics beneficial to delivering exceptional client experiences and building business.

Diversity is who we are at LPL, and it’s part of our DNA. Along with Advisor Business Communities and Employee Resource Groups, LPL’s Advisor Inclusion Council plays a key role in supporting our advisors.

As a member of the Advisor Inclusion Council (AIC), Jeremy shared his thoughts on the importance of diversity and inclusion efforts to our industry. “As members of the AIC, we’re each able to share our knowledge and experience to help strengthen LPL’s D&I efforts, which is especially valuable to our diverse advisors who may have previously felt underserved, or at least under-engaged. You can tell that LPL truly values the input from the advisor community, and understands that we can better attract and serve our diverse advisor, employee, and client communities when we have more diverse voices around the table.”

“This sharing has helped me realize that our successes and struggles are often more similar than one might think, helping us to develop tools and resources to address our common challenges.”
