For many readers, this isn’t the first time you’ve come to this blog for timely, local discussions of life and finance in our community. Since 2023, this blog has been run by AZTEC Financial Group’s own Hannah Morgan. Hannah’s an accomplished author, among other wonderful things, and as she takes her next steps forward in her career and personal life, the time has come for this blog to change hands.
That’s where I come in! My name is Leanna, and I’m AZTEC Financial Group’s newest office assistant. If you’re connected to us on our LinkedIn or Facebook pages, you may recognize me from AZTEC’s introductory post. Moving forward, I’ll be mainly writing for the blog alongside our other contributors.
So, since we’ll be “seeing” each other through these posts, I thought it would be nice to take a moment for us to get to know each other.
BACKGROUND
I spent roughly 12 of my first 18 years in Wolfeboro NH, and I consider it to be my hometown. Known for gems like Bailey’s Bubble and Black’s gift store, this small town on the Big Lake Winnipesaukee is full of charm—even if I am a biased source! I consider myself a New Hampshire Girl and a Certified Local, but I’ve actually lived and travelled all over the east coast. Growing up, some of the places my family and I lived were Southern Maine (where I was born), Florida, Tennessee, and central New Hampshire.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
I started my career in the family cleaning business as a teen and started my own one-girl- cleaning-show at 18. I ran my own business and did the occasional freelance sewing or tailoring gig for ten years. However, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, I transitioned out of self-employment and into a remote receptionist position for a Virtual Urgent Care clinic. This lead me down the path of Medical Administration, and while I’ve done different roles for different clinics and programs through the years, I discovered that having been on both sides of the employment/entrepreneur dichotomy gave me skills that snowballed into a unique point of view and an ability to fill in gaps wherever there’s a need.
In addition to my role at AZTEC Financial Group, I’m also going back to school as part of University of New Hampshire’s College of Professionals program, where I’m studying Business Management and Finance.

INTERESTS
While I’m known to cycle through hobbies on a fairly frequent basis, two of my real passions are music and history.
Being the daughter of a musician, I listen to all genres of music. I find that even styles of music that don’t appeal to me offer the chance to ask, “What sounds or themes might make this appeal to someone else?” and help me to expand my tastes.
If you asked me my favorite artist, though, I’d have an immediate answer: Taylor Swift! However, I’m not just talking about her radio hits like “Shake It Off!” or “You Belong With Me.” My favorite Taylor Swift songs include “Call It What You Want,” “Marjorie,” and “Change.” In fact, my go-to “party trick” is asking a couple questions about a person and their music taste and matching them to a Taylor Swift song I think they’d like.
As far as history goes, I’ve been hooked ever since the first time my mom read me the Little House on the Prairie series as a kid. While I enjoy historical fiction, I usually prefer classics by authors of the era such as Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott, and of course, Laura Ingalls Wilder. My favorite historical fashion era far predates those authors, though! The soft, simple dresses and flowing sleeves of the Early Medieval period are some of my favorite historical fashions, and in my spare time I research and recreate dresses based off art from the period and extant garments from museums.
MOVING FORWARD
Here at AZTEC Financial Group, I’ll be the first person you see at the front desk in or the first voice you hear talking on the phone. I love to help people, so there’s no need to feel shy! Whether it’s processing transactions, answering phones, or filling out documents (so you don’t have to!), I’m happy to help however I can. And, in the case that I can’t help you personally, I can make sure you get to someone who can! Joie and Eric are both kind, helpful people who’ve already made me feel like a valued part of the team, and together we’re excited to walk with you on your financial journey, wherever it leads.
